#3 - Behind The Scenes w/ LTRAIN (INDIEGOGO FUNDRAISER)

It's been quite a few months since I've last updated my blog. So many interesting things have been happening for the past few months. My great friends from LTRAIN, is having an INDIEGOGO FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN for their upcoming EP "Can't Pay Bills". I am super excited for this and I can hardly wait to see all the great things they will be putting out there. As some of you know, I am a great supporter of the LIVE music scene, as I am also a striving singer-songwriter. I have so many talented music friends in bands and also doing their own solo projects and I have so much to tell you guys. But right now, I am here to help out one of my favorite bands; LTRAIN.

I must say, I have never seen a group so dynamically together and so committed to their craft that I am actually in awe every time I get to see them rehearse and perform. The whole room just focuses in on their stage presence and you can hardly keep yourself from standing still when you see them perform. From their funky beats to their powerful lyrics...I assure you that you will not regret ever coming to one of their shows.

Right now, I know they are focusing on their INDIEGOGO campaign and making sure they have the expenses to make their EP come to life. And all they really need is your love and support to make this happen. So, if you have any amount to donate, please do! Every little bit helps and they're well on their way to reaching their goal. They are currently (at this moment) $30 away from reaching their $1.000 milestone, so will you be the one to help them on their way? And don't think you won't be receiving anything in return for your kind donation! I had donated some money to help them out and one of the perks I will be getting is a vinyl of their EP. As someone who loves vinyls and looking for good music to play on my vinyl player, I am looking forward to that! I mean, who doesn't love the vintage sounds of a vinyl record? If you check out their INDIEGOGO Campaign, you can find out more of their wonderful perks and who knows, maybe you'll get a shout-out from them on their Facebook and other social media sites for helping them out.

Here is the link on where you can donate to their upcoming EP - "CAN'T PAY BILLS":

I assure you that greater things will happen for LTRAIN in the near future. So, don't miss out on this and seeing them rise to their fame and being a part of the journey of their dreams! I will always be one of their biggest fans and supporter and will have nothing but love for them. Go and check them out on their FACEBOOK at http://www.facebook.com/LTrainBand. Help someone make their dreams come true!

#2 - MD Talks: Jump For The Sails (Elijah & T.J) Interview

JUMP FOR THE SAILS has always been one of my favorite bands from Queens, NY. I have known these guys for 3 years and have grown to love their music all these years. It's quite interesting to see how far one band has progressed from the early stages to the present. And must I say, these guys have gone a long way, and I know they will only continue to thrive on and who knows, I might have had the privilege to interview these guys before they get famous :)

As some of you already know, the newest member of JFTS is T.J. Wagner. The original trio was Elijah Catrone, Hiro Yamao and Kentaro Moore. JFTS has had other guitarists play with them but never really found the right fit for the band, until T.J. appeared into the picture. These guys are like a family. It's nice to see that when I have the chance to hang out with them. The key thing about being in a band (as I have learned with my own experience), is that you gotta have the same passion and drive and goal as the rest of the people in your band. Music is in your blood and bones and you guys are connected to that intangible thing. You're connected by music and the more it grows, the bond between brotherhood (in this case) grows with it. I am a huge fan of JUMP FOR THE SAILS and I don't think that will ever stop. I can see them getting much further in the music scene than they are now.

Okay. On to the the good stuff. I had managed to interview half of JFTS one day, and well...you can just check out what happened here:

And this is the actual interview of Elijah and T.J.

Alright, now that you got to know a little about Elijah and T.J., keep a look out for the interview for the rest of Jump For The Sails: Hiro Yamao and Kentaro Moore. Make sure to check them out on all the social media sites and come out to one of their shows to actually see them LIVE (which I highly encourage because their LIVE shows are just AMAZING). Hello, everyone! For my first blog post, I am going to introduce to you some of the bands I am looking forward into interviewing and spending some quality time with. Go check them out and if you have any bands you'd like me to interview or give a band review of, please let me know! And don't forget to go to my FACEBOOK page and give me a "LIKE" <3

- Elijah Catrone (Vocals/Lead Electric)
- T.J. Wagner - (Rhythm Guitar/Back-up Vocals)
- Hiro Yamao (Bass/Back-up Vocals)

- Kentaro Moore (Drums)

Jump For The Sails is rising up in the music scene as one of my favorite bands. Upon meeting Elijah, Hiro and Kentaro back in 2009, I had immediately grown fond of them and their music. JFTS is releasing an EP soon and I will make sure to get in touch with them for that. They have their upcoming shows on AUGUST 3rd (TBQ event - Rooftop Show at THE PLACE BAR & LOUNGE - 269 Norman Ave. Greenpoint, Brooklyn NY) and AUGUST 10th at SANTOS PARTY HOUSE with HE IS LEGEND. Make sure you check them out soon! Now, here's my all-time favorite song by JFTS - "X MARKS THE SPOT". Video was taken by BohemianWays.

Band Members:
- Crystalla Gonzales (Lead Vocals)
- Gabriel Castellar (Electric Guitar/Vocals)
- Hiro Yamao (Bass)
- Andrew Garcia (Drums)

LTRAIN is a female-fronted funky band that has everyone's jaws dropping to the floor when they see their killer performances. Crystalla's phenomenal voice and great stage presence DEFINITELY gives this band a ---- there's no word for it. But, for everyone who has gone to their shows or seen videos and heard their music, can vouche for what I'm about to say --- LTRAIN is the band to see when you are in NYC. Gabriel's electrifying guitar skills (and his amazing faces while playing) is very entertaining to the eyes and ears. Hiro's funky bass skills definitely keeps the energy of the band and the audience up. Andrew's killer beats keeps the heart pumping and everyone's head banging. Their EP is ALSO coming out REAL soon, so be on the look out for that! Make sure you check them out on all the social media sites and say "hello!" Here's a performance that they did where they covered RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' "Give It Away". Video credits to BOHEMIANWAYS.

Band Members:
- Sylvana Joyce (Vocals/Keyboard)
- Sean-David Cunningham (Violin)
- Christopher Smith (Electric Guitar)
- Peter Bellomo (Bass)
- Ross Liberti (Drums)

SYLVANA JOYCE & THE MOMENT (founded in 2010), is another female-fronted band with the awesome styles of gypsy rock, blues and soul. It seems that nowadays, female-fronted bands have been rising up in the local music scenes. And that is awesome! When I first heard of SJTM, I was extremely drawn to their music. I haven't heard their sound before and I love the incorporation of the strings and keyboard. Sylvana has such a beautiful presence on and off stage where you CAN'T help but LOVE her music. My favorite song that I've heard them perform (which was the first song I heard) is called, "THE BREAK". They have an awesome music video to that song up on their YOUTUBE, so check it out! Now, here's a little LIVE footage from when they performed "THE BREAK".

Well, guys...that's it for now for this post. I will be posting up another blog for solo artists (preferably acoustic ones). There are more bands I would like to post about, but there's not enough time right now for me to do so. But, keep checking out on my blog and maybe you'll see someone you know here! I will also be posting up some stuff about my band, THE MIDNIGHT SESSIONS, so you guys can get to know us a little bit better. I hope you enjoy your day and keep supporting the LIVE music scene.

Much love,

MD
